WHAT OUR MEETUP GROUP IS ABOUT?
I say OUR Meetup group because I would like everyone to feel free to give suggestions, Get involved, and be an active participant. Active participants participating actively. Our mountain bike meetup group will hopefully be about more than just mountain biking. It’s what we can make of it. Whether we go running, road riding, swimming, tubing, playing soccer, tennis, paintball, ultimate Frisbee, or even camping, having cookouts, going to the movies, or just a nice social event. It’s up to US. Lets get outdoors, meet new people, have fun, and explore the endless miles of scenic Richmond.

PROFILES & PICTURES
It is a requirement that ALL members completely fill out the intro and all profile questions. Just tell us about yourself and make it as fun or as serious as you would like. Also, please do not use any 'Internet names", or unrecognizable nick names.
A picture on your profile is a requirement. There should be at least one visible face shot of yourself. This is so we can recognize you at events held by us, safety reasons, and it shows that you are who you say you are. ONLY members of our group can see your picture, our calendar, member photos, message board, files, etc.

WHO CAN JOIN?
This meetup group is open to anyone. Young, or old. Married, or single. Fast or slow. It doesn’t matter. Just have the desire to get up, come out, and enjoy feeling better by being active. As we grow, we should become a large enough group with different views, religious beliefs, and opinions. But all with a common interest, that is to be physically active.

WE ARE AN ACVITVE GROUP
Meaning; we would like members to actively participate in the outings and events when they can. Not just someone who joins just to join or someone that sits behind the computer and emails people. Active participants participating actively. (Now that’s a mouth full) With that said, I’m personally looking forward to physically meeting you at future meetups and not just as an “online personality” here.

FEES
Meetup charges me a monthly fee for the use of the website and it's tools. I also would like to get signs, flyer's, and business cards made up. So, starting July 6th, 2009, a three-dollar membership fee is required. On all outings, you will be responsible for your own expenses occurred at all events. Any extra money, above and beyond what Meetup charges, will be put towards future events and supplies.

RSVP’s
Please RSVP an answer to all events. A YES means you WILL show up. And of course, a no means you won’t. But if your not sure you can or can’t make it, it’s ok to RSVP maybe.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY This group is for anyone and everyone. That means married or single. And just because we will have meet and greet social event from time to time, doesn’t mean we are a match making group. So don’t treat it as such. But if you do find a friend (or more) then good for you.

MESSAGE BOARD The Message Board is means for members to communicate about upcoming events, have discussions, ask questions, and other meetup related topics. The message board will NOT be used to advertise business opportunities or to SPAM the group in any way. Such posts will be deleted.

RULES TO FOLLOW:
1) Members who refuse to keep a completed profile may be removed from the group. This means all questions answered, and a visible face photo posted. If a member is removed, for this reason, they are more than welcomed to rejoin when they comply with this requirement.

2) Members will pay a three-dollar, once a year, membership fee. Once paid, you can visit the website a much or as little as you would like. But please, be active and visit often.

3) On the same lines, Not only would we like all members to be active online, But also at the outings. So, members that don’t attend at least one (1) function in a year’s time are in jeopardy of being removed from the group. Remember what was said earlier? “Active participants participating actively.”

4) Members, who RSVP "yes" more than 3 times and do not make it to any of the event(s), will be in jeopardy of being removed from the group. Of course, this does not apply to maybes.

5) Members who try to force any of their views and/or beliefs on any other member, both at functions or via email contact, the offending member will nicely be asked to stop the first time. Should this member continue with the behavior they will be ask to leave the group.

6) Members, who habitually send random emails and / or post shouts without the member’s permission or haven't had the pleasure of meeting, will be asked to either stop or to leave. If you get any unwanted or uncomfortable emails from any members of meetup.com, within our group or from another, and I’m not able to deal with it, then please contact ABUSE@MEETUP.COM.
